Terms of Use
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms are the agreement for using the Kins app and this website. We have tried to write them in plain words. Please read them, together with our Privacy Policy and our Safety page. By using Kins you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Kins.
The short version
- Kins is an AI voice companion. It is not a person, a doctor, a therapist or an emergency service.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US). Kins can't call anyone for you.
- Kins is for adults (18 and over). Family members may help set it up for the person who will use it.
- You start with free welcome minutes. After that you can buy a monthly plan or a minute pack in the app.
- Plans renew every month until you cancel. To cancel, open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Your conversations and notes belong to you. You can delete them, or your whole account, in the app.
Who this agreement is with
Kins is provided by LibriAI, LLC (“Kins”, “we”, “us”). “You” means the person who uses Kins. If you set Kins up for someone else, such as a parent, you agree to these terms for your own use of the app and confirm you have their permission to set it up for them.
What Kins is, and what it isn't
Kins is a companion you can talk with by voice. It uses artificial intelligence to understand you and to answer, and it remembers things you share so later conversations feel personal.
- Kins is not a person. Its answers are written by AI. They can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, and Kins can misunderstand what you say.
- Kins does not give medical, mental health, legal or financial advice. Talking with Kins is not a substitute for your doctor, pharmacist, therapist or other professional. Always check important information, especially about health, medicines and money, with someone you trust.
- Kins is not an emergency service. It can't call for help, contact your family or watch over you. If you are in danger or need urgent help, call your local emergency number. If you are thinking about harming yourself, in the US call or text 988. More on our Safety page.
- Kins needs an internet connection. Calls can drop or end early, for example if the connection is poor or when your talk time runs out.
Who can use Kins
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kins. Kins is made for one person per account: the person who talks with it. Please don't share your account with others.
Your account
You sign in with your Apple or Google account. Keep your phone and those accounts secure, because anyone who can open Kins on your phone can talk with it and see your notes. Tell us at admin@kins.life if you think someone else is using your account.
Talk time, plans and payments
- Welcome minutes. New accounts get free welcome minutes to try Kins. Free calls may be shorter than paid calls. The current amounts are shown in the app.
- Monthly plans. Kins Lite and Kins Plus give you a set number of minutes each month. Unused plan minutes don't carry over to the next month.
- Minute packs. A one-time purchase that adds minutes. Pack minutes don't expire and are used after your plan minutes for the month.
- Call length. Each call can last up to a set length (currently 30 minutes). Kins tells you shortly before a call has to end.
- Prices. Prices, plan sizes and taxes are shown in the app before you buy. We may change them for the future; a change to your plan's price will be handled by Apple, which tells you in advance.
- Billing and renewal. Purchases are made and billed through your Apple Account. Plans renew automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current month. You can manage or cancel a plan in iPhone Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan until the end of the month you paid for.
- Changing plans. Moving from Lite to Plus starts Plus right away. Moving from Plus to Lite takes effect at your next renewal.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Minutes have no cash value. They can't be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, and unused minutes end when your account is deleted.
Using Kins fairly
Please use Kins for your own personal conversations. Don't:
- use Kins to break the law, or to harm, threaten, harass or deceive anyone;
- use Kins to plan or carry out scams, or to get information to hurt yourself or others;
- try to get around talk-time limits, copy or take apart the app, or interfere with our systems;
- use automated tools to access Kins, or resell it.
Kins may end a conversation if it raises a safety concern, and we may limit or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Your conversations and notes
What you say to Kins, and the notes Kins keeps about you, belong to you. You give us permission to store, process and use them only to run Kins for you: to answer you, to remember what matters to you, and to keep the service safe and working. We do not sell them and we do not use them to train AI models. Our Privacy Policy explains this in detail, including how to see, change and delete your information.
Our app and name
The Kins app, website, name and logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use the app on your devices under these terms. We may use any suggestions you send us to improve Kins, without owing you anything.
Services we rely on
Kins uses other companies to run, for example to provide the AI that powers conversations, to process purchases and to host our systems. They are listed in our Privacy Policy. If one of them has an outage, parts of Kins may not work for a while.
Changes to Kins
We keep improving Kins, so features may change, be added or be removed. If we ever stop offering Kins, we will tell you in advance where we can.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using Kins at any time and delete your account in the app under Settings. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription by itself, so please also cancel it in iPhone Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we have to by law. Sections that by their nature should last, such as disclaimers and limits on liability, continue after the agreement ends.
Apple App Store
If you got Kins from Apple's App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are responsible for Kins;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Kins;
- if Kins doesn't meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and it will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation for Kins;
- Apple is not responsible for claims about Kins, such as product liability, legal or regulatory claims, consumer protection claims, or claims that Kins infringes someone else's rights;
- you confirm you are not in a country under US embargo and are not on a US restricted-party list;
- Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.
Apple's own Media Services terms also apply to your App Store purchases.
Disclaimers
We work hard to make Kins helpful and safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that Kins will always be available, error-free or right, or that it will meet a particular need. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on what Kins says. Our total liability to you for any claim about Kins is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. These limits don't apply where the law does not allow them, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law and disputes
If you have a problem, please write to us first at admin@kins.life; most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of your local consumer laws and can bring claims in your local courts.
General
These terms, the Privacy Policy and any terms shown when you buy something in the app are the whole agreement between you and us about Kins. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer this agreement to someone else; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business, and your rights won't be reduced by that.
Changes and contact
If we make important changes to these terms, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Kins after that, the new terms apply.
